Data Analyst - Supply Chain Value & Insights

Position Overview

This contract opportunity at Lonza spans an initial one-year term with the possibility of a one-year extension. Candidates currently serving notice of fewer than 20 days or available to join immediately are preferred. The role is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

About the Role

We seek a data expert skilled at transforming complex data sets and coding into actionable business insights. You will deliver predictive models and create visually insightful dashboards tailored for executives. This position serves a critical role within Lonza's Global Supply Chain organization, interfacing across operations, leadership, and IT to pioneer data infrastructure, automation tools, and forecasting models to support world-class supply chain performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Aggregate global supply chain data to provide full transparency on demand forecasting, logistics, and warehouse management through advanced analytics and Power BI dashboards.
• Develop and maintain custom data pipelines using SQL, Python, and R, integrating cloud and enterprise data sources including SAP ERP and BW systems.
• Research and deploy emerging digital innovations such as AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and automation tools across supply chain operations.
• Collaborate with supply chain leaders to translate business requirements into precise technical solutions and deliver department-wide training for new systems.
• Optimize processes by resolving data pipeline inefficiencies, refining legacy systems, implementing quality assurance protocols, and establishing standard operating procedures to reduce reporting redundancies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Statistics, or a related technical field.
• Between 5 and 10 years’ experience in advanced business intelligence, data modeling, or data science analytics.
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and/or R; proven experience designing semantic data models and interactive Power BI dashboards.
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise ERP data extraction, particularly SAP ERP and SAP BW modules.
• Excellent English communication skills with ability to clearly explain complex analytics to non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Background in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or global supply chain/logistics analytics.
• Practical skills deploying time-series forecasting or machine learning models in a production environment.
• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Alteryx, SAS, or SAP Analytics Cloud platforms.
• Proficiency in German or French languages.
