Role Overview

As a Data Analyst II at Acorns, you will take ownership of measurement, analysis, and experimentation across the customer journey. Your work includes assessing campaign and experiment performance, discovering new customer segments, identifying communication opportunities to boost engagement, and evaluating product and marketing efforts. You will collaborate closely with product managers, marketers, and engineers to ensure measurement accuracy and provide influential insights that guide strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and execution of A/B tests and analyses end-to-end ensuring rigor in sample sizing and duration.
• Investigate anomalies and validate data tracking to distinguish meaningful results from noise.
• Proactively monitor performance and engagement metrics to highlight opportunities and potential issues.
• Align metrics with customer outcomes by focusing on indicators that truly impact user experience and business value.
• Collaborate on establishing priorities and building analytical infrastructure and tools for scalable measurement.
• Leverage artificial intelligence and automation tools to accelerate analyses, generate code, and streamline repetitive tasks.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum five years’ experience in analytics, ideally supporting product or marketing functions.
• Proficient in experimental design, measurement frameworks, sample size calculation, statistical analysis, and communicating findings effectively to non-technical audiences.
• Strong foundation in statistical concepts including hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals, and error types.
• Hands-on familiarity with modern data tools such as Databricks, BigQuery, dbt, Amplitude, Tableau, and Braze.
• Experience or interest in utilizing AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency and automation.
• Understanding of user behavior, customer psychology, and how product or messaging adjustments affect outcomes.
• A strategic outlook to challenge suboptimal experimental designs and advocate for impactful metrics.
• Driven to contribute to transformative product development aligned with Acorns’ mission.
• Demonstrates precision, commitment, optimism, and alignment with Acorns’ values and societal mission.

Compensation and Benefits

• Annual salary range expected between $158,000 and $170,000, subject to factors like experience and location.
