Role Overview

The Contract Manager is responsible for managing all contractual elements related to subcontractor construction agreements. This role ensures subcontractor compliance with company and project policies, legal regulations, and construction standards. The position oversees contract drafting, negotiation, administration, and closeout, including handling claims and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts across various construction disciplines such as piling, civil foundations, structural steel erection, piping, and electrical work.
  • Develop and formalize contract annexes tailored to project-specific demands, incorporating mechanisms like liquidated damages and incentives to promote timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Construction Management, Legal, and other departments on contract-related matters.
  • Administer change orders, amendments, and contract close-out processes effectively.
  • Regularly monitor contractor performance ensuring adherence to scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Manage claims, disputes, and conflict resolution collaboratively with Project Management, Legal, and Finance teams.
  • Provide routine reporting on contract status, risks, and compliance.
  • Perform additional contractual administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  • Maintain punctual attendance and willingness to work overtime as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of contract management experience, ideally within capital projects or construction sectors.
  • Background in construction purchasing is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements

This role demands the capacity to work extended hours including weekends, sustain composure in high-pressure environments, and be accessible for emergencies at any time. Physical activities include frequent bending, stooping, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, and prolonged periods of sitting.
