Role Overview

We are inviting applications for a motivated and experienced Contract Administrator to join our Perth Construction Team. The role focuses on managing the commercial and contractual aspects of our commercial construction projects, while coordinating project schedules efficiently.

The preferred candidate will have an Electrical background coupled with project management and technical skills, though candidates from other backgrounds are welcome.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with the project team to develop, maintain, and manage the commercial and contractual duties of the business and projects.
  • This is a hybrid position requiring work both at our Belmont office and on-site near Mandurah.
  • Foster and sustain proactive positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Manage the administration of construction contracts from start to finish.
  • Review and negotiate contracts with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare, draft, and revise supplier sub-contracts, including tender documents and negotiating purchase agreements with suppliers.
  • Help resolve contractual issues or disputes promptly.
  • Participate in regular project team meetings across multiple projects to ensure projects are managed proactively.
  • Provide reporting on deliverables to project leads, teams, and business managers.
  • Support preparation of monthly project meeting reports, proactively communicate new risks, opportunities or changes, and take part in strategic discussions.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification is highly regarded.
  • Five or more years of experience in commercial and contract administration ideally within construction.
  • Experience or background in Estimating is advantageous.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with construction laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Ability to provide advice on compliance and contract revisions.
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented attitude with readiness to assume responsibility.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, and database applications.
