Role Overview

The Content Specialist/Writer will play a key role on WP Engine's content team, responsible for crafting engaging and impactful content that connects with targeted audiences. Responsibilities include managing content development from initial conception and research through to publishing and performance evaluation. Collaboration with senior content strategists and marketing teams is essential to produce high-quality materials such as blogs, eBooks, newsletters, web pages, and social media posts. The role requires simplifying complex technical topics to make them accessible and captivating. Additionally, the specialist will spearhead content optimization efforts, employing data-driven methods to ensure relevance and alignment with business objectives. Creativity, analytical thinking, and proficiency with modern AI tools are vital in this fast-paced setting aimed at enhancing brand visibility and growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage content creation end-to-end, including briefing, research, publication, and performance monitoring.
• Develop diverse marketing content including blogs, ebooks, newsletters, website pages, and social media communications aimed at demystifying technical subjects.
• Create and maintain organic-first content to support traffic and lead generation targets.
• Leverage AI tools for idea generation, content outlining, and scaling production while retaining a human-centric narrative voice.
• Maintain and improve existing content assets by identifying those that can be refreshed, pivoted, or expanded.
• Update marketing materials to keep audiences informed about product launches and enhancements.
• Utilize tools like Ahrefs and analytics platforms to pinpoint growth opportunities within the content library.

Qualifications

• Between 0 and 2 years of experience in writing related to marketing, blogging, social media, copywriting, internships, or academic publications.
• Excellent storytelling and editing abilities, with sensitivity to brand voice, narrative cohesion, and tone.
• Curious about and capable of integrating modern AI tools to improve creative processes.
• Growth-oriented mindset combined with analytical skills to assess content impact on business metrics.
• Basic understanding of SEO principles and familiarity with digital marketing tools.
• Preferred knowledge includes Google Analytics, YouTube, Reddit, LinkedIn, Search Console, and WordPress system.
