Job Summary

As a Compiler Engineer based in Edinburgh or Cambridge, you will be part of an international team developing compilers and libraries. Your role involves addressing real-world challenges in server, high-performance computing (HPC), and AI domains by analyzing compiler-generated code performance, applying advanced optimizations, debugging compilation processes, and presenting results. This role encourages innovative problem-solving in a culturally diverse team with shared goals. Contributions may be shared with open-source communities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop LLVM-based compilers tailored to emerging architectural features.
• Design and implement optimizations specifically for xPU (heterogeneous processing unit) architectures.
• Employ artificial intelligence techniques to enhance compiler optimization abilities.
• Analyze the performance characteristics of compiled code.
• Collaborate closely with xPU architecture teams in co-design activities.

Requirements

• Strong enthusiasm for compiler development.
• Proficient in advanced C/C++ programming.
• Basic understanding of CPU or xPU architecture fundamentals.
• BSc, MSc, or MSci degree in Computer Science is preferred.
• Experience contributing to open-source software projects is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability for independent learning, willingness to explore new technologies, and solid practical skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
