About the Role

Join Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), an integral part of McKesson and one of the largest community-based cancer programs globally. This role focuses on supporting SCRI's mission to advance oncology treatments and enhance patient outcomes through innovative research and clinical excellence. As a Clinical Program Scientist I, you will provide essential scientific, operational, and administrative support within SCRI Research Programs, working closely under associate or director leadership to further disease-specific research objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships within the organization relevant to program initiatives.
  • Lead disease-focused program meetings under supervision of leadership.
  • Support one-on-one meetings between physicians and program directors as directed.
  • Track studies to identify gaps using available tools and monitor protocol amendments affecting patient eligibility, investigational products, or treatment schedules.
  • Collaborate with clinical program associates in creating and reviewing concise study summaries for accuracy.
  • Create slide presentations for internal audiences and potentially deliver presentations.
  • Support new study evaluations and startup activities including organizing executive committee meetings, preparing meeting materials, managing lead evaluation processes, and documenting meeting decisions.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams such as Lead Management, Study Activation, and Clinical Operations to facilitate project progress.
  • Participate in meetings and calls with sponsors or CROs as necessary.
  • Provide scientific support to Investigator-Initiated Trials and collaborate on proposals for RFPs and trials in coordination with personalized medicine and innovations groups.
  • Assist in developing scientific materials and deepen subject matter expertise within assigned programs.
  • Conduct scientific literature searches upon request.
  • Support the Marketing Team with program-related needs.
  • Maintain program dashboards and handle communications such as study-specific and FDA approval emails.
  • Execute special projects and related program support duties.
  • Adhere to SCRI's Code of Conduct and complete all mandatory training requirements promptly.

Required Qualifications

  • PhD preferred with a minimum of five years scientific experience in clinical research.
  • Oncology clinical research expertise spanning phases I-IV is essential.
  • Ability to conduct scientific literature reviews to support research initiatives.
  • Readiness to develop disease-specific and drug-development expertise to support SCRI programs.
  • Experience functioning effectively in multicultural, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong time management, organizational skills, and flexibility to reprioritize tasks as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Resourceful and adaptive to dynamic and evolving program environments.

Additional Information

This is a U.S.-based remote position with a preference for candidates located in or near Nashville, TN, or able to commute to the home office one day weekly. Relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not provided.
