About Connecteam

Connecteam is a premier platform dedicated to managing non-desk teams, trusted by over 80,000 companies worldwide. It was designed for frontline operators managing shifts, jobs, and teams across various locations without relying on traditional desk-bound processes or disjointed tools. The platform streamlines daily operations and team communications into a single user-friendly app, covering hiring, scheduling, training, task management, and everyday coordination. Supported by over $220 million in funding from prominent investors, Connecteam is expanding rapidly to empower frontline workers to work more efficiently and stay better connected.

Role Overview

The Onboarding Manager plays a vital role in guiding new clients, especially those onboarding from partner organizations, through the entire implementation cycle of Connecteam—from the initial handover and kickoff all the way to the successful launch of payroll. This hands-on, customer-facing position blends project management, system setup, understanding of payroll processes, customer training, and cross-team collaboration.

Working closely with external clients, partner Implementation Managers, and internal Connecteam teams, the Onboarding Manager ensures accurate configuration and validation of employee data, time tracking, PTO policies, payroll regulations, and payroll system integrations. The focus is on creating a seamless onboarding journey that guarantees employees are paid correctly and punctually.

Implementations prioritize payroll and align with customers' first clock-in dates, payroll schedules, and go-live timelines. Depending on account complexity and size, the Onboarding Manager may maintain involvement through one to three initial payroll cycles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the customer onboarding process from internal handoff to go-live and stabilize initial payroll cycles.
  • Manage multiple customers originating from partner relationships and develop implementation plans tailored around first clock-in, payroll periods, training, and payroll deadlines.
  • Conduct project kickoffs, system setup, client training, and payroll coordination.
  • Keep all stakeholders informed with clear timelines, responsibilities, risks, and next steps.
  • Gather client workflows and translate business requirements into effective Connecteam configurations.
  • Identify complex needs and design appropriate solutions including account setup and integration management.
  • Provide comprehensive training on Connecteam features and payroll processes adaptable to diverse client sizes and structures.
  • Collaborate directly with partner Implementation Managers and internal teams like Sales, Support, Product, and Integrations.
  • Diagnose and escalate technical or payroll-related issues promptly, maintaining detailed account documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years in SaaS implementation, onboarding, or customer-facing roles handling SMB and mid-market clients.
  • Strong project management capabilities to juggle multiple implementations and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of explaining technical topics to varied audiences.
  • Technologically proficient with quick software learning, troubleshooting, and understanding integrations/data flows.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and customer-centric in managing complex onboarding scenarios.
  • Ability to foster trusted relationships within customers and cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective problem-solving aptitude with sound judgment and adaptability to shifting customer demands.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in payroll, HRIS, workforce management, employee scheduling, or attendance systems.
  • Exposure to payroll implementation, professional employer organizations (PEO), or multi-site/multi-entity company structures.
  • Experience working in partner-managed or channel distribution environments.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Paid leave including vacation and sick days.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
