Civil Technician

Role Overview

Madre Integrated Engineering is seeking a Civil Technician in Doha, Qatar to support the inspection, upkeep, testing, and documentation of civil assets within industrial environments.

Key Duties

• Examine civil structures for visible issues, evaluate their condition, and either complete or suggest suitable repair work.
• Interpret engineering drawings and use them to help prepare site layouts, technical specifications, and cost estimates for civil works.
• Carry out quality assurance and field tests on concrete, asphalt, soil, aggregates, and other structural materials in line with ASTM requirements.
• Measure quantities of materials, perform bearing capacity checks, test concrete strength, and collect samples to confirm project and quality compliance.
• Prepare preventive maintenance plans, record inspection results, and work closely with engineering teams to keep civil infrastructure operating safely and reliably.

Requirements

The role calls for a Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience in civil construction, maintenance, or infrastructure work. Experience must be from power plants, utilities, oil & gas, industrial facilities, or heavy construction settings.

Candidates should be comfortable working with engineering drawings, site layouts, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and maintenance planning. Practical knowledge of concrete, soil, aggregate, and asphalt testing, along with structural inspections, defect evaluation, and ASTM-based quality control, is essential.

Applicants also need experience in field testing, structural assessment, material sampling, and writing engineering reports, specifications, and maintenance recommendations. Strong analytical ability, problem-solving skills, communication, teamwork, and safe work practices in industrial environments are also important.
