Overview
The Cisco Asset Manager role involves delivering personalized and consultative services focused on providing complete transparency of a customer's Cisco installed product base across their network. The role supports customers in actively managing their asset lifecycle, enabling informed business decisions to maximize investment value and mitigate risks related to unsupported or aging infrastructure. Success in this position requires coordinating regular reporting, communication, and planning activities to meet the objectives of the Asset Management program.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead analytics for customer inventory to develop strategies enhancing customer experience and Cisco relevance.
- Ensure customer's installed base is accurately reflected regarding contracts, locations, and service levels.
- Maintain software inventory metrics regularly, including baseline creation, license tracking, lifecycle management, and compliance monitoring.
- Compile and analyze consumption metrics using telemetry data and purchase history to support accurate reporting.
- Manage onboarding of new customers by gathering documentation, conducting research, aggregating data from various sources and providing insightful business intelligence.
- Understand and recommend improvements to customer processes related to installed base data management.
- Identify and reconcile discrepancies in Move, Add, Change, and Delete (MACD) activities.
- Convert data into actionable insights with clear recommendations for business optimization.
- Provide continuous ongoing support for installed base maintenance.
- Develop and deliver regular standard and ad hoc reports and prepare for Monthly and Quarterly Business Reviews involving stakeholders and customers.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful task execution.
- Continuously analyze customer asset management practices and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years experience in overall customer engagement with at least 2 years relevant to asset or inventory management.
- Familiarity with Cisco products and services is preferred.
- Exceptional communication abilities including rapport building, customer-focused language, active listening, empathy, conflict resolution, and time management.
- Proficiency in managing customer transactions independently using multiple tools and knowledge systems.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with the ability to adapt to business changes.
- Motivated self-starter with good organizational and multitasking skills, capable of working under pressure.
- Technically proficient with computer applications, advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including V-lookup, pivot tables, formulas), and preferably experience working with large datasets or database program languages.
