Chief Operating Officer - Port Operations

Role Summary

This executive position is responsible for directing strategic operations within port logistics, overseeing multimillion-dollar profit and loss budgets, and managing the entire spectrum of vessel berthing, yard automation, and cargo operations. The incumbent ensures full compliance with maritime safety standards while optimizing operational efficiency and minimizing turnaround times for key shipping clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership by supporting regional operational plans and implementing standardized policies that enhance port productivity and profitability.
• Manage and supervise vessel arrivals, yard management, and gate processes to ensure swift container and cargo throughput.
• Maintain strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental protocols in line with international maritime regulations such as SOLAS and MARPOL.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with customs officials, business shipping clients, and government bodies to avoid operational delays.
• Oversee terminal financials, including budget management and resource optimization for equipment deployment.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's degree in Maritime Operations, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering.
• Bring 8 to 10 or more years of proven experience handling high-volume terminal management or maritime logistics operations.
• Display expert knowledge of Terminal Operating Systems, automated container handling, and related port management technologies.
• Demonstrate strong crisis management skills with high resilience to effectively respond to emergencies and adverse weather in dockyard environments.
