Chief Operating Officer

About the Role

We are conducting a confidential executive search for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join a leading chemical manufacturing company in the UAE. This position offers a unique chance to become a vital part of an established industrial business operating a key chemical production facility in the region. The COO will report directly to the CEO and Board and hold comprehensive accountability for manufacturing, engineering, maintenance, HSE, supply chain, operational strategy, and overall business results.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all company operations and overall performance management.
• Champion world-class standards in manufacturing, process safety, reliability, quality, and health, safety, and environment (HSE) practices.
• Enhance productivity, cost efficiency, asset utilization, and operational effectiveness.
• Formulate and implement growth strategies aligned with long-term corporate objectives.
• Collaborate closely with commercial teams to refine production planning, customer service, pricing strategies, and profitability.
• Lead capital investments, plant modernization projects, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Develop and nurture a high-caliber leadership team while promoting a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
• Ensure robust financial outcomes by managing operational key performance indicators (KPIs) and profit and loss (P&L) responsibility.

Candidate Profile

• Proven executive leadership experience in chemical or continuous-process manufacturing industries.
• Track record of managing large-scale manufacturing operations with full P&L responsibility.
• Strong commercial insight and strategic business acumen, capable of converting operational efficiencies into lasting profitability.
• Demonstrated expertise in HSE leadership, operational excellence, change management, and organizational development.
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field; possession of an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
