Job description

Job Objective

Lead and manage the cellar team to ensure effective and efficient execution of beer production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold all quality and safety standards for beer production at Monster Brewing facilities.
  • Possess expertise in all tasks related to Cellar Operator 1, Operator 2, and Technician 1 roles.
  • Manage and oversee cellar operations within the Orchestrated Beer system.
  • Supervise both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of cellar equipment.
  • Coordinate cellar labor scheduling and monitor individual staff performance.
  • Maintain precise standard operating procedures, logbooks, and safety documentation.
  • Ensure compliance of the cellar team with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Facilitate effective communication through various channels including email, phone, text, and face-to-face interaction.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire new cellar department employees.
  • Lead training initiatives and manage production scheduling along with raw material procurement.
  • Verify and approve timecards for cellar personnel.
  • Undertake facility-specific duties as assigned and support other departments when needed to ensure process integration.

Physical and Mental Requirements

The role demands physical and mental stamina to perform tasks in sometimes extreme working conditions, including handling stress from operational and administrative responsibilities. Requires frequent lifting and moving of objects weighing between 10 to 75 pounds and engaging in activities such as standing, sitting, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, bending, as well as usage of senses and operation of tools and controls. Weekend and overnight shift management/support may be necessary.

Additional Information

  • Employment Type: Full-time, exempt salaried position.
  • Salary Range: $55,000 to $79,000 annually, based on experience.
  • Supervision: Reports directly to the Director/General Manager of Brewery Operations or Operations Manager.
  • Team Management: This role includes managing others.
  • Education: Minimum required - High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree or vocational qualification is preferred.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in production brewery; preferred experience includes managing a production brewery department.
  • Age Requirement: Must be 21 years or older.
  • Travel: Less than 10% travel required.
  • Driving: A valid driving requirement applies.
  • Tools & Equipment: Utilizes standard office and brewery equipment including pallet jacks, forklifts, and scissor lifts.
