Cashier

Position Overview

The Cashier role is essential in delivering prompt, welcoming, accurate, and safe service to customers. This position involves handling checkout and return transactions while overseeing and maintaining the Self-Checkout area to ensure smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform efficient processing of customer purchases and returns.
• Monitor Self-Checkout stations to assist customers and maintain functionality.
• Proactively acquire product and project knowledge to inform customers and identify sales opportunities.
• Strictly adhere to company policies and procedures to reduce inventory shrinkage.

Head Cashier Specific Duties

• Coordinate and position Cashiers to manage workflow effectively.
• Facilitate price checks and authorize Point of Sale transactions and markdowns across multiple service areas including main registers, Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
• Serve as the first point of escalation for customer concerns.
• Support in supervising, coaching, and training Front End Associates and new Cashiers using all available coaching tools.

Requirements

• Preferably at least one year of experience working as a Cashier.
