About the Role
We are looking to welcome individuals seeking a professional change or development, including those returning after parental leave. From the start of your retraining, you'll receive a competitive salary and after entering the profession, you'll collaborate as equals with your colleagues.
As a Train Traffic Controller, you will operate from signaling centers, overseeing train movements to ensure safety, punctuality, and smooth operations.
Starting October 1, 2026, we invite you to join DB InfraGO AG in Cochem, Wittlich, or Trier as a career changer in this role.
Retraining Program
- The full-time retraining program involves 39 hours per week combining theoretical and practical lessons.
- The theory portion is conducted at our training center in Koblenz, while practical assignments occur near your residence.
- Training classes are limited to a maximum of 14 participants to ensure quality engagement.
Key Responsibilities After Training
- Manage train traffic at various sizes of signal boxes using levers, buttons, and rotary switches.
- Set routes for trains by controlling pathways, switches, and signals to ensure safe departures, for example, from stations.
- Monitor daily operations in stations.
- Maintain communication and coordination with colleagues, train drivers, and control centers.
Candidate Profile
- Completed vocational training in fields such as retail sales, hospitality, bakery sales, or office administration.
- Basic computer skills are essential.
- Ability to remain calm and maintain overview in demanding situations.
- Strong teamwork skills and a willingness to take responsibility.
- Flexible and prepared for shift work including nights, weekends, and public holidays while maintaining a balanced personal life.
- Possession of a Class B driving license and German language proficiency at C1 level are mandatory.
