Role Overview
The Business Development Officer position based in Harare operates on a full-time schedule with a hybrid model combining office and remote work. The role focuses on identifying and cultivating new business opportunities by sourcing leads, maintaining a sales pipeline, and nurturing connections with property developers, companies, and individual clients. Key responsibilities involve preparing detailed proposals and quotations, showcasing company services, engaging clients in meetings, and proactively following up to convert inquiries into confirmed projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Seek and develop new business leads and opportunities within the interiors and related markets.
- Create and deliver persuasive proposals and price quotations reflecting tailored client needs.
- Engage in client meetings and build lasting relationships with property developers, business operators, and end users.
- Conduct thorough market research and evaluate trends to inform service and pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with design and operations teams to align offerings with market demands.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sales activities and pipeline status.
- Support marketing initiatives and attend relevant networking events to expand company presence.
- Provide regular updates and performance analytics to senior management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven experience in business development and customer service, with a demonstrated ability to generate and convert sales leads.
- Strong analytical and financial understanding to interpret market data and assist in pricing decisions.
- Excellent communication skills, including presentation, proposal drafting, negotiation, and collaboration competence.
- Prior client-facing experience in interiors, construction, real estate, or similar sectors is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing time and digital tools such as CRM, productivity software, and communication platforms independently.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent background in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related disciplines preferred.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and capacity to travel locally to client sites around Harare as needed.
Minimum education
Bachelor's Degree
