Business Analyst - Banking

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join a leading financial client, focusing on banking and credit technology projects. This contract role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, create project documentation, and implement innovative solutions that drive business value within the B2B banking domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and assess requirements to ensure solutions align with desired business outcomes.
• Provide support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring development efforts meet business objectives.
• Create and maintain detailed project documentation and artifacts for diverse stakeholder groups.
• Leverage domain expertise to recommend effective solutions and deliver measurable business benefits.
• Break down complex challenges, analyze relevant data, and offer actionable insights and recommendations.
• Design test cases to confirm that business requirements and user acceptance criteria are satisfied.
• Focus primarily on specific business units while also potentially contributing at the enterprise level.
• Exercise independent judgment in troubleshooting and resolving issues within guidelines.
• Manage complex tasks autonomously and take on additional responsibilities as needed.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 4 to 6 years of pertinent experience complemented by a related post-secondary degree or equivalent background.
• Basic knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project delivery frameworks.
• Strong abilities in data analysis coupled with process improvement expertise.
• Experience in defining and analyzing business requirements.
• Capability to generate insights and develop comprehensive reports.
• Skills in functional design and application analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication competencies.
• Collaborative attitude with team-oriented approach.
• Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Decision-making driven by data analysis.
• Technical competence acquired through education and/or professional experience.
• Familiarity with digital initiatives and systems thinking concepts.

Preferred Attributes

• Knowledge of technical terms related to system architecture, data analysis, and data flows.
• Previous experience in the banking or financial services sector.

Compensation

The position offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from CAD 62.07 to CAD 74.49.
