About the Role and Department
The Cellular Pathology department at Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is expanding due to increased demand for pathology services. We are seeking a dedicated Biomedical Scientist to join our professional and supportive team. This role involves contributing to both routine and specialist tasks that support the smooth operation of the Cellular Pathology laboratory. The successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering diagnostic services that comply with accreditation and regulatory standards, ultimately ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high-quality, comprehensive Cellular Pathology service for the trust and its users.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide all aspects of Cellular Pathology services.
- Comply with Trust health and safety policies alongside departmental protocols.
- Assist with the training and education of team members.
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ISO 15189 standards and quality management systems.
- Strong technical and problem-solving capabilities within the pathology laboratory setting.
- Effective communication skills to engage confidently with colleagues and stakeholders.
Additional Information
The position is full-time, requiring 37.5 hours per week. All roles at MKUH consider flexible working arrangements. Salary for Band 5 ranges between 32,073 and 39,043 annually, pro rata.
Milton Keynes University Hospital is a University Teaching Hospital partnered with the University of Buckingham, striving for excellence through research and education. The hospital offers a broad spectrum of medical and surgical services, including a busy Emergency Department, Maternity, Paediatrics, and recently launched advanced services such as a Radiotherapy Centre and Community Diagnostic Centre.
