Automation Junior Engineer

Overview

The Automation Junior Engineer will aid in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining automation systems in Jabil's manufacturing operations. This role supports senior engineers to enhance production efficiency, optimize processes, and ensure quality outcomes by leveraging automated technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in creating, developing, and testing automation solutions such as robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and vision inspection systems.
• Help with the installation, calibration, and troubleshooting of automation equipment on the manufacturing floor.
• Work closely with departments including production, maintenance, and quality assurance to find automation improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions.
• Contribute to developing and preserving technical documents such as wiring diagrams, programming logic, and operational manuals.
• Perform regular maintenance and preventative inspections to keep automation systems functioning optimally and reduce downtime.
• Support data analysis of production metrics to identify enhancement areas and recommend automation upgrades.
• Adopt industry best practices and observe safety protocols relevant to automation tasks.
• Provide technical assistance and training sessions for operators using automated machines.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming platforms such as Siemens or Allen-Bradley and experience with HMI development.
• Familiar with robotic automation systems and core industrial automation concepts.
• Understanding of electrical schematics and control systems architecture.
• Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is advantageous.
