Role Overview
We are inviting applications for an Associate Project Manager to join our New York City office. This role offers the opportunity to assist in all phases of project delivery, handling coordination, documentation, and ensuring comprehensive management of projects. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, resourceful, and motivated to enhance their technical and project management skills while contributing effectively within a client-centered team.
Key Duties
- Assist throughout design and construction phases for active projects.
- Liaise with vendors, consultants, and subcontractors during project execution.
- Contribute to the development, monitoring, and updating of project schedules, budgets, and cost records.
- Track progress and align construction timelines with both internal and external teams.
- Identify potential project issues proactively and help devise actionable solutions.
- Organize and maintain precise project files, logs, and approvals.
- Generate status reports, updates, and ad hoc analyses as requested by leaders or clients.
- Support procurement processes by assessing bids and facilitating vendor communication.
- Maintain regular communication with project teams, consultants, and clients to ensure alignment on objectives and strategies.
- Participate in site visits to take notes and photographs, ensuring complete and distributed documentation.
- Engage in continuous improvement by adhering to team-established standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related disciplines.
- Three to five years of experience assisting design and construction projects.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to juggle multiple priorities meticulously.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication competencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); knowledge of Smartsheet or other PM tools is advantageous.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities.
Location and Travel Requirements
This position is based in New York City, expecting onsite presence Monday through Thursday, with remote work possible on Fridays except when travel to project sites is necessary. The role supports clients nationally, requiring occasional travel outside NYC for site visits and meetings.
