About Doha Institute for Graduate Studies

Established in 2015 and located in Doha, Qatar, this independent graduate institution offers master's and doctoral degrees through its College of Social and Human Sciences and the College of Economics, Management and Public Policy. Arabic is the primary language for studies and research, with required English proficiency. Program Overview

The Clinical Psychology Program offers a two-year master's degree focusing on various aspects of mental and psychological health, including psychopathology, clinical assessment/intervention, and biological foundations of behavior. Students complete 500 supervised clinical practice hours in mental health facilities in Doha. The curriculum blends theory and practice with training and field research opportunities to equip graduates with skills for ethical and effective clinical and research work in psychology and mental health.

Position Summary

The institute seeks a full-time faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor in Clinical Psychology starting August/September 2027. The candidate must specialize in psychological assessment, especially psychometric evaluations of cognitive abilities, personality, and diagnostic clinical interviewing. They will teach graduate-level courses in assessment tools and interpretation, train students on ethical use of culturally sensitive psychometric instruments, supervise clinical and research activities, contribute to curriculum development, maintain an active research and publication record, and participate in departmental service. They will also support clinical training capacity development and pursue licensure for clinical practice in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver graduate courses focusing on cognitive ability assessment, personality evaluation, psychometric tools, and diagnostic clinical interviewing.
  • Train students in ethical and culturally responsive use of psychological assessment instruments.
  • Supervise student clinical and research work related to psychological assessment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and ensure program quality.
  • Maintain an active research agenda and scholarly publications.
  • Participate in faculty, departmental, and institutional service.
  • Support enhancement of clinical training capabilities within the program.
  • Obtain clinical practice licensure in the State of Qatar.

Qualifications and Experience

  • PhD in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field.
  • Current valid clinical license in country of residence or nationality.
  • Academic rank and experience appropriate for Associate Professor or Professor appointment.
  • Proven expertise in psychological assessment including cognitive abilities, personality measurement, and diagnostic interviewing.
  • Experience teaching graduate-level clinical psychology courses, particularly in assessment.
  • Documented scholarly output commensurate with senior academic rank.
  • Experience supervising graduate students in clinical or research settings connected to assessment.

Proficiency in both Arabic and English is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with common cognitive and personality assessment instruments.
  • Ability to integrate assessment results into diagnostic formulations and clinical recommendations.
  • Experience teaching test administration, scoring, report writing, and ethical use of psychological tools.
  • Familiarity with culturally sensitive assessment practices in Arabic-speaking or multicultural environments.
  • Involvement in clinical training program development, supervision, or leadership.
  • Ongoing research activity in clinical psychology, psychological assessment, psychopathology, or related fields.
