Role Summary
New Catalyst is looking for a Capital Formation & Investor Relations Associate to support fundraising, investor relations, and business development efforts. Reporting to the Head of Investor Relations, the role will assist with investor outreach, upkeep of fundraising materials and systems, diligence coordination, and ongoing development of the firm’s capital formation capability. This position is intended for a strong professional with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience who wants to build a long-term career in investor relations and private markets. The opportunity includes direct exposure to fundraising, consultant and investor communications, and capital formation strategy, along with practical experience supporting institutional and prospective investors.
Responsibilities
- Help drive fundraising and investor relations activities in partnership with the Head of Investor Relations.
- Coordinate communication and engagement with investors and prospective investors.
- Maintain and organize the firm’s fundraising infrastructure, materials, and processes.
- Support diligence workflows and related follow-up activities.
- Contribute to the ongoing buildout of the capital formation function.
- Assist with investor servicing and broader business development support as needed.
- Work closely with firm leadership in building a scalable institutional capital formation platform.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
- 2 to 4 years of experience in investor relations, capital formation, placement agency, private markets, asset management, investment banking, consulting, business development, or a similar financial services role.
- Experience such as Placement Agent Analyst/Associate, Private Equity Investor Relations Analyst/Associate, Asset Management Client Service Associate, Investment Consultant Analyst, Investment Banking Analyst, or fundraising/business development analyst is relevant.
- Exposure to private markets, alternative investments, fundraising, or institutional investors is strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and CRM tools; Affinity experience is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, project coordination, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to handle several priorities at once.
- Strong curiosity, professionalism, coachability, and sound judgment.
