Role Summary

The Associate Data Scientist is crucial in assisting data science programs within the bank. Reporting to senior data scientists, the Associate will develop and deploy machine learning solutions, perform exploratory data analyses, and deliver actionable business insights. Collaboration with business units, assisting in model development, and building scalable analytical assets aligned with QNB’s goals are key functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and monitoring of KPIs to evaluate the impact of data science projects.
• Deliver analytic solutions to improve operational efficiency and foster growth in revenue.
• Contribute to the execution of QNB’s Data & Analytics strategic initiatives.
• Advocate for cost-efficient practices, enhancing productivity and maximizing benefits.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to translate business problems into data science challenges.
• Create clear, concise, and insightful reports and dashboards for business users.
• Assist with testing and deploying models, maintaining alignment with stakeholders and meeting deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with established Service Level Agreements for timely delivery of services.
• Provide accurate data to auditors, compliance, financial control, and risk management teams when required.
• Maintain effective interdepartmental relationships to meet the Group’s objectives.
• Clean and prepare large datasets for modeling and analysis purposes.
• Develop, document, and implement machine learning and statistical models and AI pipelines.
• Research and apply advanced techniques and tools in AI and data analytics to enhance decision-making.
• Identify and incorporate new mathematical or statistical methods for specific data-driven needs.
• Build robust predictive models and utilize experimentation and visualization to generate consistent insights.
• Keep abreast of latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and analytics tools through ongoing learning and training.
• Engage actively in feedback sessions and mentoring opportunities with senior data scientists.
• Organize regular meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions related to AI and data science projects.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of machine learning methods, data cleaning (wrangling), and model evaluation techniques.
• Proficiency or familiarity with data science tools such as Python, R, and Jupyter notebooks is preferred.
