About the Role
Based in Ashbourne, County Meath, Nua Healthcare Services is searching for caring and passionate individuals for the position of Assistant Support Worker. You will be joining one of Ireland’s most respected care providers, delivering services such as Residential, Supported Living, Day Services, and Community Outreach for adults and children with diverse needs.
Our Approach

As part of our team, you will help empower individuals with autism, acquired brain injury, intellectual disabilities (including those with Alzheimer’s or dementia), challenging behaviours, or mental health and personality disorders, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives within their communities.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist individuals in organising their daily routines and activities.
- Support clients in accessing local community services and events.
- Help individuals set and work toward personal, educational, and developmental objectives.
- Encourage and guide people to maintain independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, and engaging with family or friends.
- Accompany clients to appointments and help them stay socially connected.
- Comply with all company policies, procedures, and best-practice standards.
- Provide care across varying shift patterns to meet individual and service needs, including nights and weekends.
- Take on additional related tasks as required by changing service requirements.
Skills and Criteria
- Formal qualifications are not mandatory; ongoing professional training is offered.
- Prior experience in a supportive role is a plus, but not essential; life skills and a genuine interest are valued.
- Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and enthusiasm for helping others achieve independence.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster positive, respectful working relationships.
- Possession of a full driving licence or demonstrated progress toward obtaining one is required.
- Willingness and ability to work across a range of shifts to best respond to client needs.
