Job Overview
The role of Assistant Relationship Manager involves supporting Relationship Managers in fostering and expanding client interactions while ensuring seamless coordination with internal teams. The position requires active engagement in credit and portfolio management, operational support, stakeholder communication, and strict adherence to compliance and governance policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Relationship Managers with maintaining and growing client relationships through effective communication and problem resolution.
- Handle customer inquiries and collaborate with internal departments for prompt issue resolution.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing client portfolios and contribute to cross-selling efforts.
- Prepare detailed credit documents such as proposals, memos, amendments, revalidations, and extensions.
- Support financial and industry analysis for credit assessment and monitor portfolio documentation for compliance.
- Manage day-to-day transactional requirements including trade finance, loans, remittances, and other lending products, coordinating with operations and related teams.
- Facilitate account management activities such as openings, profile updates, digital banking applications, and confirmations.
- Work closely with stakeholders across Risk, Credit, Treasury, Legal, Operations, and Compliance to ensure efficient processes and timely documentation.
- Ensure compliance with AML, KYC, and regulatory standards, aiding audit preparations and maintaining accurate records aligned with the bank's governance frameworks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; possession of MBA, CA, or CFA credentials is advantageous.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in Business, Commercial, or Corporate Banking, with exposure to client relationship support and credit evaluations.
- Familiarity with commercial banking products, credit and financial statement analysis, portfolio monitoring, and understanding of local regulatory and central bank guidelines.
