Role Overview
The Assistant Manager serves as a key contributor to the maintenance, support, and enhancement of the bank’s software application portfolio, especially focusing on core banking systems. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to address issues, deploy updates, and ensure software systems operate optimally in alignment with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver effective solutions to end-user requirements supporting shareholder and financial goals.
- Participate in the execution of the bank's IT strategy, including implementing Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for core banking applications.
- Promote operational efficiency and cost savings, ensuring productivity improvements without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with analysts, designers, and developers for supporting, developing, and testing software applications.
- Coordinate with management for timely support and resolution of issues, adhering to service level agreements.
- Develop and deploy new or enhanced applications, ensuring proper documentation, compliance with system standards, and alignment with project management frameworks.
- Maintain strong internal relationships and provide accurate, timely information to auditors, compliance, finance, and risk teams.
- Uphold robust data protection and confidentiality protocols for all bank-related information.
- Adhere strictly to all applicable regulatory, compliance, and operational risk management policies.
- Engage in continuous professional development and encourage growth within the team.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management to support QNB’s objectives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in the financial sector, with expertise in web or mobile application development.
- Proficient knowledge of core banking applications, including strong development experience with IBM System i platforms.
- Relevant training or certifications in systems technologies related to core banking.
