The Assistant Manager position plays a vital role in energizing sneaker culture within the store by leading with purpose and accountability. This role supports the Store Manager in driving sales, coaching staff, and maintaining daily store operations with commitment and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate leadership on the sales floor with a proactive, positive approach that energizes customers in every interaction.
- Coach and motivate team members to deliver exceptional customer service, impart product knowledge, and foster shopper enthusiasm.
- Assist in achieving sales targets by actively participating on the sales floor and helping team members close sales effectively.
- Manage store operations including opening and closing routines, cash handling, and floor staffing coverage.
- Maintain the store environment—organized, customer-ready, and efficient throughout each day.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, loss prevention measures, and company standard operating procedures.
- Adopt an ownership mindset by promptly addressing issues and consistently maintaining store standards.
- Utilize retail technology and digital tools to improve customer experience, empower associates, and streamline store functions.
- Lead as Manager on Duty when scheduled, offering confident guidance and clear direction to the team.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training initiatives for new store associates.
- Coach teammates in real-time, celebrate achievements, and address performance challenges swiftly.
- Participate actively in all areas of the store to support team goals and priorities.
Qualifications and Skills
- At least one year of retail experience, preferably with leadership or key-holder responsibilities.
- Effective coaching, motivational, and team engagement capabilities.
- Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Dependable, self-driven, with a readiness to take responsibility.
- Basic knowledge of retail metrics and operational processes.
- Preferably prior experience as a Key Holder, Supervisor, or Assistant Manager.
- Experience in fast-paced or high-volume retail settings is advantageous.
- Interest in long-term career progression in retail leadership roles.
