Assistant Finance Manager

Position overview

SBI Digital Markets is looking for an Assistant Manager in Finance to cover regulatory reporting and financial control across SBI Digital Markets and the AsiaNext Group. This position focuses on accounting, statutory compliance, regulatory submissions, and finance governance, while also contributing to business expansion and finance transformation work.

The role partners closely with the Head of Finance to ensure accurate and punctual reporting, strong compliance with regulatory obligations, and robust financial oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day accounting entries and keep the books complete and up to date.
• Drive monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Build management reports, financial statements, variance analyses, schedules, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee payables, receivables, and invoice workflows.
• Track cash movements and assist with treasury-related tasks.
• Prepare and manage MAS regulatory submissions, including CMSL and RMO returns.
• Keep watch on regulatory capital, liquidity, and other required financial thresholds.
• Ensure adherence to accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory obligations.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews, inspections, and data requests.
• Prepare GST filings and assist with corporate tax matters.
• Coordinate annual statutory audits and the preparation of financial statements.
• Work with external auditors, tax consultants, and other service partners.
• Maintain and improve finance processes, workflows, and internal controls.
• Assist in rolling out finance systems and reporting enhancements.
• Look for opportunities to streamline work, automate tasks, and improve reporting quality.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and broader financial planning exercises.
• Provide analysis and management information to help guide business decisions.
• Contribute to strategic projects, new business initiatives, and other ad hoc assignments as needed.

Requirements

• A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification are preferred.
• Between 4 and 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, or finance operations.
• Background in a regulated financial institution, capital markets firm, fintech, exchange, brokerage, or digital assets environment is preferred.
• Prior exposure to MAS regulatory returns is highly desirable.
• Strong command of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
• Sound understanding of MAS regulatory requirements.
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
• Careful attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently while managing several priorities at once.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and finance systems.
