Role overview

Ontrac Solutions supports enterprise clients in modernizing and scaling important business programs by placing strong technical and operational talent. This opening is for an Architectural Designer who will contribute to large retail store planning and design work for a major national retail healthcare brand.

The position suits someone who works well in a fast-moving production setting, can quickly follow established processes, and enjoys partnering with design, planning, and construction teams to produce precise, scalable, and operationally practical retail spaces.

Key duties

Create, update, and manage architectural drawing sets and store layouts.
Assist with a high volume of retail planning work across several active projects at once.
Revise test fits, fixture layouts, and planning documents as business needs change.
Check consultant drawing packages for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards.
Use Bluebeam Revu and similar tools to apply comments, markups, and revisions.
Work with internal teams and outside consultants to fix design and documentation issues.
Incorporate redlines and feedback quickly while working to tight delivery schedules.
Keep drawing sets accurate, well-organized, and aligned with code requirements.
Support store planning and architectural leadership in maintaining delivery speed.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in architectural design or store planning.
Strong AutoCAD skills.
Practical working knowledge of Revit.
Experience with Bluebeam Revu or a comparable markup/review platform.
Background in construction documents, layout plans, and fixture plans.
High attention to detail and strong organizational ability.
Comfort managing multiple priorities in deadline-heavy environments.
Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
Professional communication skills and willingness to join active video meetings.

Preferred background

Experience in retail store planning or interior planning.
Ability to adapt layouts to different site conditions.
Experience working with external consultants and construction partners.
Prior support for enterprise retail rollout programs.

Work setting and schedule

This is a remote role. Candidates who live within driving distance of the client’s regional offices are preferred for occasional on-site collaboration. The schedule is Monday through Friday and is aligned with the team’s operating hours. The initial contract is expected to last 4–6 months, with a strong possibility of extension or conversion to a longer-term role depending on performance.
