It helps investment banks and private equity firms automate complex, high-stakes workflows that traditionally require teams to spend most of their time collecting information and drafting materials by hand before refining decks, models, and pitches. The platform is designed to return that time to users while also surfacing insights from financial data that would be difficult to uncover manually.

Team

The team combines experience from major financial institutions such as Evercore, General Atlantic, and Menlo Ventures with engineering and AI backgrounds from Amazon, Hugging Face, and the MIT Media Lab. The founders and founding engineers bring startup-building experience, and the company emphasizes hiring exceptional talent.

Role overview

As an AI/ML Engineer, you will help evolve Farsight's AI platform by building and improving systems that power retrieval, generation, and agentic workflows for financial customers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead initiatives that connect and improve large language models, embedding models, and semantic retrieval components across the product.
• Architect, develop, and ship advanced multimodal retrieval and agentic systems that can extract insight from both structured and unstructured financial data.
• Expand the platform's agent capabilities with strong focus on composability, function calling, and modular orchestration patterns.
• Use customer feedback to iterate on retrieval quality and model outputs so results stay accurate and relevant.
• Prototype new AI features quickly and contribute ideas that can materially improve workflows at major financial firms.

Required qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience deploying machine learning models into production.
• Hands-on experience working with closed-source LLM APIs and fine-tuning open-source models.
• Strong practical knowledge of embedding models and semantic search/retrieval tools such as Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Chroma, or PGVector.
• Experience creating multimodal retrieval systems that combine text, numerical, and structured data.
• Very strong Python skills, along with familiarity with tools and frameworks such as Hugging Face, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or LangChain.
• Interest in tracking current AI research, tools, and trends.
• Ability to work well in ambiguous settings and independently own projects from definition through delivery.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience building or improving AI agent systems using function calling, orchestration frameworks, and modular architectures.
• Familiarity with financial data retrieval challenges and solution design.
• Background in performance tuning, scaling, and reliability work for AI retrieval systems.
• Startup experience or an entrepreneurial mindset.
• Exposure to free-form generative AI use cases in complex business environments.

Location and work arrangement

The team is based in Manhattan, New York City. The role follows an in-person schedule four days per week, with Fridays remote. This is a full-time position.

Compensation and benefits

The company lists compensation in two places: one section states an annual salary range of $200,000 to $300,000 depending on experience, while another section shows a compensation range of $150K to $220K. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, plus unlimited PTO.
