Role Overview
Amazon is driving transformative breakthroughs in artificial intelligence, particularly through generative AI and large language models (LLMs), aiming to enhance human-technology interaction across its services. We are seeking AI Data Associates fluent in Dutch to support this mission by accurately labeling diverse datasets, including text, speech, imagery, and video, to improve machine learning models such as Alexa.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere strictly to confidentiality policies to protect customer privacy.
- Handle various data types—text, speech, image, video—for annotation tasks.
- Produce accurately labeled data following established guidelines and utilize internal tools to fulfill quality and timeliness KPIs.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in ML data workflows, ensuring grammatical and factual correctness in responses and annotations.
- Make sound decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Exhibit flexibility in switching between different annotation categories smoothly.
- Support daily operational targets including average handling time (AHT), quality control, and turnaround times (TAT) for multiple tasks.
- Manage end-to-end data labeling processes independently, reducing reliance on instructions.
- Analyze root causes of errors in tasks and propose quality improvements.
- Identify and report operational or procedural issues in SOPs and tools, suggesting actionable enhancements.
- Provide on-floor support to resolve queries during task execution.
Typical Workday
As a Machine Learning Data Associate, you will focus on foundational labeling activities such as evaluating dialogues across modalities—speech, text, audio, and video—to enhance Alexa’s user experience. Success in this role requires keen concentration, multitasking ability, meticulous attention to detail, and commitment to upholding confidentiality and company policies. You will join a diverse, innovative team dedicated to pioneering AI advancements, working onsite Monday through Friday during an 8-hour shift.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of at least an Associate’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Advanced Dutch language proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher).
- Strong command of written and spoken English (CEFR C1 or higher).
- Excellent business writing aptitude to generate reports, proposals, and formal correspondence.
- High-level reading comprehension skills to analyze complex documents.
- Well-developed analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret detailed instructions across multiple projects.
- Competent research skills, synthesizing information from varied sources.
- Exceptional attention to detail in handling complex tasks and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability in efficient task execution.
- Experience leveraging open-source tools for comprehensive research.
- Adaptability to fast-changing, dynamic environments.
- Project coordination or management experience, particularly in support functions.
- Proven experience managing cross-departmental stakeholder relationships.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard business applications.
