Role Summary
The Account Manager will focus on driving profitable and sustainable growth in the CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants, Elastomers) ingredient portfolio by building relationships with new and existing customers within the assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute strategies to expand Barentz’s presence and increase gross profit across the designated market, prioritizing specialty suppliers specified by the business.
- Leverage product knowledge and sales expertise to effectively communicate value propositions to customers.
- Continuously seek partnership opportunities with suppliers aligned to customer needs and document these in the Opportunity Pipeline system.
- Maintain and elevate customer service quality through innovative service initiatives that reinforce Barentz’s commitment to Creating Customer Success®.
- Analyze industry trends, emerging markets, market shifts, new products, and competitors to inform strategies.
- Engage with industry events and trade shows as necessary and recommend relevant participation.
- Represent Barentz’s leadership in the industry at conferences, events, and through social media channels.
- Apply effective sales methods to prospect and convert new customers while communicating Barentz’s brand effectively.
- Manage the sales pipeline to secure new business opportunities.
- Conduct product presentations and demos in person or virtually as required.
- Arrange face-to-face meetings with key contacts including purchasing, R&D, and sales/marketing at potential client sites.
- Respond promptly and accurately to customer inquiries and concerns.
- Prepare price quotations, handle sample requests, and facilitate new product introductions and training.
- Embody and promote Barentz’s culture, values, and principles across all activities.
- Engage actively in personal development programs such as product and sales training.
- Provide timely and clear reports on customer interactions, meetings, and opportunities through established communication channels.
- Attend regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors to review territory performance and growth prospects.
- Deliver consistent sales forecasts using Barentz’s online forecasting tools.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum five years of technical sales experience within the CASE industry.
- University or college degree in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering, or a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven track record in expanding sales territories and surpassing sales targets.
- Highly proactive, energetic, and enthusiastic with a positive approach.
- Strong skills in sales techniques focused on features, advantages, and benefits (FAB), with solid understanding of pricing and competitive environment.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, adaptable to various audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Adheres strictly to ethical and legal standards aligning with Barentz’s core values.
- Fluency in English required; additional language skills are advantageous.
