Waiter / Steward

About the Role

Ayur Square, a pure vegetarian specialty restaurant based in Velachery, Chennai, is seeking a Waiter / Steward (Male) to join their team. Both part-time and full-time positions are available. Staff accommodation is provided for full-time employees along with complimentary meals.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the dining area before service by ensuring crockery, cutlery, tables, and chairs are in excellent condition.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, glasses, and the dining environment throughout the shift.
• Welcome customers, assist in seating arrangements, and address any initial queries.
• Present menus, respond to customer questions, and recommend dishes based on customers' preferences.
• Take and serve food and beverage orders, communicating customer specifications clearly to the kitchen staff.
• Clear tables and return food and beverage items to their designated areas responsibly.
• Ensure overall customer satisfaction throughout service hours.
• Conduct daily inventory checks related to restaurant supplies.
• Assist with procurement of provisions, packaging materials, housekeeping supplies, and stationery as needed.
• Demonstrate a keen interest in hospitality with strong attention to detail.
• Maintain a pleasant personality and uphold excellent personal grooming standards.
• Specific duties and job profile will be tailored according to the candidate's previous experience.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum education: completion of 12th standard.
• Experience ranging from no prior background to up to five years in restaurants or hotel Food & Beverage services; freshers are welcome.
• Basic proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.
