Overview
Chesterfield College is seeking to hire Variable Hours Exams Invigilators to assist with examination administration primarily across its Chesterfield and Derby campuses, as well as selected workplace venues. The role offers an hourly wage of £15.12 (inclusive of holiday pay). Applicants should be prepared for high demand during May and June examination periods and indicate preferred geographical work locations in their application.
Role Purpose
The invigilators will facilitate a professional and secure exam environment, ensuring compliance with examination protocols, maintaining the integrity of assessments, and providing candidates with a calm setting to maximize their performance, covering both paper-based and online exam formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver examination support services at Chesterfield campus mainly, with occasional duties at Derby campus and local business sites.
- Adhere strictly to security and procedural requirements related to examinations.
- Manage candidate needs and uphold a tranquil testing atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with exam candidates and colleagues.
- Travel flexibility to various locations with reimbursement for incurred expenses.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably within an examination or educational environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills enabling management of occasional challenging situations.
- Ability to perform under pressure and exercise good judgment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and competent administrative skills.
- Minimum academic qualification of GCSE in Maths and English at grades A*-C or 9-4.
