About the Role
Join SSP Canada’s team at Calgary International Airport, where we operate diverse restaurants including Belgian Beer Cafe, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, and more. As a Utility / Dishwasher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across our dining establishments to ensure a safe environment for both guests and staff.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure all work areas remain hygienic and well-maintained for a positive guest experience.
- Thoroughly clean surfaces and equipment such as floors, windows, walls, vents, grills, refrigerators, and service areas.
- Properly dispose of waste to designated locations.
- Clear, reset dining tables, and transport service ware to kitchen as needed.
- Handle food scraping from dishes, wash utensils manually or via dishwasher, and store items correctly.
- Use specified cleaning chemicals to meet sanitation standards, occasionally operating heavy-duty equipment.
- Assist guests by responding to special requests and communicate their needs to appropriate staff.
- Monitor stock, apply appropriate rotation, check food temperatures, and maintain quality control.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Skills Required
- At least six months’ experience in retail or food service environments.
- High school diploma preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English for effective communication.
- Possession of a valid Food Handlers Permit as mandated by legislation.
- Capability to stand for extended durations and work in confined areas.
