Role Overview
The Civil & Structural Engineer will spearhead design, analysis, and execution assistance for civil and structural systems within oil & gas infrastructures such as refineries, petrochemical complexes, LNG terminals, and offshore/onshore platforms. This role ensures that structures are safe, economical, and compliant with relevant international standards and project requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and analysis of pipe racks, pipe supports, and their foundations.
- Development of equipment foundations.
- Engineering of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) and steel structures.
- Design of industrial buildings and protective shelters.
- Preparation of detailed technical specifications.
- Review and inspection of 3D models related to structural elements.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- Master’s degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
- Additional professional certifications are advantageous.
- Extensive experience, spanning 18+ years, in oil & gas, petrochemical, EPC, or related industrial projects.
Key Competencies and Skills
- Comprehensive understanding of structural mechanics and construction materials.
- Familiarity with geotechnical principles and foundation engineering.
- Ability to interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and plant layouts.
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaborative teamwork spirit.
Compliance and Standards
- Proficiency with codes including ACI 318, AISC 360, ASCE 7 series (2010, 2015, 2022), IBC, and Euro codes.
Technological Tools
- STAAD Pro for structural analysis.
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Navisworks Freedom for model review.
