About Us
Remote Legal Staff connects exceptionally skilled legal professionals worldwide with opportunities in the U.S. legal market. We place and manage remote legal staff for U.S. law firms by recruiting talent from Latin America, the Philippines, South Africa, and other regions. Our commitment goes beyond placement: we train, manage, advocate for our hires, and help them build meaningful careers.
Role Overview
As the Recruitment Manager, you will lead and manage our external recruiting team focused on sourcing legal professionals primarily across LATAM, the Philippines, and South Africa. Your leadership will ensure every candidate presented to clients meets high-quality standards. This is a hands-on position requiring active involvement in interviews, candidate assessment processes, and team coaching. You will also develop strategic plans and key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain alignment and efficiency across time zones.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and develop the recruiting team by setting clear performance expectations and fostering individual growth.
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, including role intake, candidate screening, profiling, and smooth transition to client placement advisors.
- Engage directly in candidate interviews and audit screening outcomes to uphold high standards of candidate evaluation.
- Accept ownership of recruiting metrics such as close rates and assessment integrity; analyze and act promptly to improve these metrics.
- Identify and resolve quality versus speed trade-offs in the recruitment pipeline to ensure that increased applicant volume converts to successful placements.
- Ensure recruiters who interview candidates are accountable for final client fit decisions, with you auditing the quality of these judgments.
- Collaborate with client placement advisors and leadership to forecast staffing needs, prioritize roles, and create capacity-building plans.
- Define and track recruiting KPIs, ensuring the team remains focused, efficient, and quality-driven through regular reviews and process improvements.
- Conduct calibration sessions to maintain consistency in screening standards and address underperformance with clear timelines.
- Design and enhance screening frameworks and workflows suitable for cross-border legal staffing requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as adopting better recruitment tools and deepening interview rigor.
- Promote an outstanding candidate experience and maintain a strong employer brand throughout the recruitment process.
- Report team performance, screening quality, and pipeline health to the CEO, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
Candidate Profile
- At least three years of experience managing recruitment teams remotely with a strong track record of guiding recruiters.
- Direct knowledge recruiting legal talent from LATAM, the Philippines, and/or South Africa is essential.
- Proficient with ATS tools, regularly auditing and refining screening protocols and rubrics.
- In-depth understanding of quality-focused recruiting metrics including pass-rate accuracy, screening consistency, and time-to-fill.
- Proven experience elevating recruiting function quality and conversion rates, not just maintaining existing standards.
- Experience addressing situations where screening and placement decisions were divided between teams and successfully integrating those responsibilities.
- Familiarity with building or enhancing screening and profiling processes in high-compliance, international recruitment contexts.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of navigating complex accountability across globally distributed teams.
- Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, able to learn from both successes and failures.
- Organized, data-driven, and proactive in workload prioritization and leadership.
Success Metrics
Within the first 90 days, you will have evaluated and begun addressing screening quality issues, established a staffing plan across active hiring efforts, and built solid trust with the team and leadership to anticipate and resolve issues proactively.
