About the Role
This opportunity is for a System Administrator position based in Germany, offered through a partner company that manages all applications and follow-up processes. The role suits an IT professional with strong technical skills who enjoys resolving complex issues and ensuring the reliability, security, and efficiency of systems. You will manage devices, software, networks, and security infrastructure across various platforms to support a worldwide staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver technical support for users operating Windows, macOS, and Linux systems.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware, software, peripherals, and IT devices.
- Handle and prioritize support requests through ticketing tools like Jira.
- Diagnose and repair issues related to hardware, software, network connectivity, and infrastructure.
- Manage the lifecycle of devices, including inventory control, deployment, upkeep, and replacement.
- Configure and maintain security tools such as VPNs, antivirus software, mobile device management (MDM), backup solutions, firewalls, and monitoring systems.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, security standards, and operational procedures.
- Maintain and update technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge bases.
- Support network administration tasks involving protocols and technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLANs.
- Engage in automation, scripting, and process optimization to improve IT operations.
- Assist with managing user access, system settings, and infrastructure support.
Candidate Requirements
- 2 to 4 years of experience as a System Administrator or in a comparable technical support capacity.
- Hands-on expertise with Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
- Solid understanding of networking basics such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and VLAN technologies.
- Experience working with security solutions, including antivirus, firewalls, backup platforms, MDM, and logging tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve hardware and software complications.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems and the upkeep of technical documentation.
- Basic knowledge of scripting and automation via Bash, PowerShell, or similar tools is advantageous.
- Preferred experience with Active Directory, Group Policy management, and virtualization tools like VMware or Hyper-V.
- Effective communication abilities to provide clear and professional user support.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage priorities, and perform efficiently in a remote work setup.
