Job Overview
We are looking for a dependable and well-organized Store Keeper to oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies across our hospitality operations. This role is vital in ensuring accurate handling of food, beverage, housekeeping, engineering, and various operational inventories, with a focus on maintaining comprehensive stock records. Ideal candidates will have an eye for detail, strong ethical standards, and experience in inventory management within hotel, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
Primary Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries, verifying them against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Confirm that received goods match quality, quantity, and specification requirements prior to acceptance.
- Properly organize and store inventory in assigned locations, adhering to established storage protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and safety within all storage areas including dry, chilled, and frozen sections.
- Distribute stock to departments upon receipt of approved requisition forms.
- Accurately update inventory records for all stock movements, including received, issued, returned, or transferred items.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly stock audits and reconcile physical counts with system data.
- Monitor stock levels and alert Procurement or management when inventory reaches reorder thresholds.
- Implement inventory methods such as First In, First Out (FIFO) and First Expired, First Out (FEFO) to manage expiry dates efficiently.
- Minimize stock shrinkage due to losses, spoilage, wastage, and theft through proper management practices.
- Maintain precise documentation including Goods Received Notes, stock cards, issue vouchers, and inventory reports.
- Collaborate with procurement to resolve issues related to deliveries, shortages, damaged goods, or supplier inconsistencies.
- Ensure safe handling and appropriate storage of food items in line with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Secure storage areas by limiting access strictly to authorized personnel.
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory.
- Generate regular reports on inventory status and stock movements for management review.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
Candidate Requirements
- Education level: Minimum OND, HND, or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Hospitality Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Between 2 to 3 years in roles such as Store Keeper or Inventory Officer within hotels, restaurants, or other hospitality businesses.
- A sound grasp of inventory management and stock control principles.
- Knowledge of inventory practices including FIFO, FEFO, and correct storage procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and inventory software applications.
- Strong numerical aptitude, organizational skills, and excellent record-keeping abilities.
- High ethical standards with accountability and integrity.
- Capability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Keen attention to detail with accuracy in task execution.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to handle and move stock items as necessary.
