Role Overview

As a Stockperson / Cartpusher with Walmart Canada in Edmonton, Alberta, you play a critical role in ensuring the store environment is safe, orderly, and welcoming for all shoppers. Your primary duties include collecting shopping carts from various locations like cart corrals, parking lots, and store perimeters, and returning them safely to designated storage areas following Walmart's procedures. Key Responsibilities

• Collect shopping carts from specified areas and return them to approved storage points while accurately completing necessary logs.
• Assist customers promptly with carry outs and carry ins and verify purchase receipts when required.
• Carry out occasional cleaning and maintenance tasks following safety guidelines, including restroom upkeep and handling equipment safely.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards, including hazardous material communication, lockout/tagout procedures, and bloodborne pathogen protocols.
• Promote a hazard-free workplace by using personal protective equipment such as steel-toed footwear and reflective vests, conducting safety inspections, and complying with company policies.
• Exhibit flexibility by working various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.

Challenges in Role

• Manage a high volume of tasks efficiently within a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
• Plan and pace work during overnight hours to maintain consistent energy and focus.
• Perform physical activities such as standing for long periods, lifting items weighing up to 50 lbs., and carrying out repetitive stocking and organizing duties with attention to detail.

Compensation
