Role Overview

The Stationary Planner will be responsible for organizing, coordinating, and managing the preventative maintenance program in line with company standards. The role supports a reliability-centered maintenance approach and involves both short-term and long-term maintenance planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate maintenance work between maintenance teams and production supervisors on the front line.
• Build and review detailed job plans with clear step-by-step instructions, safety notes, special tasks or tools, component weights, parts lists, and lubricant requirements.
• Evaluate preventive maintenance tasks to determine whether they remain effective and update them when needed.
• Handle both immediate and longer-range maintenance planning.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment and asset history.
• Create work orders for planned work and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Arrange and track parts procurement for planned jobs with support from the purchasing team.
• Support the preparation of annual budgets.
• Prepare monthly reports showing costs to date and completed or outstanding work for the month.
• Help improve repair scheduling and overall planning efficiency.
• Introduce and support systems and processes that improve planning operations, along with other assigned duties.

Health, Safety, and Compliance

• Ensure maintenance programs are set up and carried out so equipment functions in accordance with company, federal, provincial, and municipal requirements.
• Place safety at the center of all work planning.
• Build special safety controls into job plans when needed, including confined space work, lockout requirements, and other non-routine hazardous tasks.
• Support and follow the company’s environmental and sustainability policies for mine operations.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with outside regulators and agencies such as MOL, MOE, and WSN.
• Work closely with area supervisors and safety coordinators to embed safety into work procedures.

Strategic Planning

• Foster constructive, collaborative working relationships across departments, with safety, production, and cost control as key priorities in meeting the plan.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Training as a Maintenance Technician/Technologist, a certified trade background, or a mix of college maintenance education and relevant work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience planning stationary equipment maintenance.
• 10 years of mechanical discipline experience, including hoisting plant and welding fabrication.
• Comfort using computers and Microsoft tools such as Excel, Word, Access, and MS Project.
• Working knowledge of underground mining stationary equipment.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Experience using computerized maintenance planning software.
• Ability to manage costs and budgets.
• Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability, and familiarity with maintenance terminology.
• Background in predictive maintenance methods such as oil analysis, vibration analysis, and non-destructive testing.
• Ability to develop major component replacement schedules using equipment history and budget forecasts.
• Capability to review critical parts for key equipment.
• Project management skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The company also provides contributions and matching to a defined contribution pension plan.

Annual total compensation ranges from CAD 123,432 to CAD 152,475, including eligibility for an annual bonus.
