Role Overview
The Spira Care Scheduler plays a crucial role as the initial point of contact for members. Responsible for handling incoming calls, scheduling appointments accurately, and connecting members with appropriate care teams, this position requires a dedication to exceptional customer service and understanding member needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage all appointment scheduling requests efficiently
- Operate various phone systems to retrieve and respond to calls
- Navigate scheduling software to book and modify patient appointments and update electronic medical records (EMR)
- Identify and document patterns in patient call frequency and duration, providing alerts as needed
- Answer and route telephone inquiries while conveying messages accurately
- Provide general information regarding services offered by the Care Center and direct calls appropriately
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations, including Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personally Identifiable Information (PII)
- Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures rigorously
- Meet quality and performance standards annually, supporting accreditation and regulatory compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience in healthcare or customer service, with phone communication experience mandatory
- Strong interest in developing a career in customer service
- Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic, high-pressure environment with competing priorities
- Proficient keyboarding skills
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Windows operating system
- Competence in using various member support tools for managing health and insurance information across communication channels including phone, in-person, chat, and email
- Compliance with Spira Care’s vaccination requirements as a condition of employment, with accommodations considered for religious beliefs or disabilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in a relevant field
- Two years of experience in healthcare or customer service environments
