Role Overview
The Sourcing Specialist is tasked with executing strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize supplier performance, focusing on cost-efficiency, quality adherence, and timely deliveries within their portfolio. This role supports the GeoUnit's business objectives by managing supplier relationships and ensuring procurement excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Design and implement sourcing plans aimed at ensuring quality standards, timely delivery, and cost minimization.
- Maintain detailed documentation of action plans and timelines for ongoing sourcing initiatives.
- Choose a supply base aligned with preferred supplier shortlists as directed by Category Managers to guarantee high performance.
- Facilitate processes such as requests for information, quotations, proposals, and competitive bidding while mitigating risks and maximizing value in quality, delivery, and cost.
- Carry out evaluations of current and potential suppliers, including reviews, site audits, and collaboration with Supplier Quality teams to verify capabilities and service standards.
- Negotiate pricing and contract terms to fulfill quality, delivery, and cost requirements.
- Coordinate contract negotiations and formulation in partnership with the Sourcing Manager and Contract Specialists.
- Lead parts and process qualification efforts in conjunction with Supplier Quality teams.
- Collaborate closely with the Sourcing Manager or Sourcing Leader to ensure uninterrupted supply for assigned portfolios.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities to eliminate waste in time, costs, and resources within sourced operations.
- Adhere strictly to company and regional procedures relevant to the sourcing functions.
