Role Overview
The Social Media Manager position is a pivotal, high-responsibility client-facing role within Bennett Creative's social media department. You will oversee a portfolio of client accounts, facilitate onboarding, design content strategies, and manage account operations flawlessly. Reporting to the Director of Social Media, you will be a key contributor to fulfilling departmental commitments to clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of client accounts, acting as their primary contact for strategy, content, and communication.
- Lead onboarding for new clients including intake calls, asset gathering, strategy formulation, and expectation setting.
- Ensure client retention by delivering consistent value through exceptional content, clear communication, expectation management, and strong results.
- Handle challenging client interactions professionally and confidently, escalating to the Director when necessary.
- Respond to client communications within 18 hours and remain highly accessible to internal teams and leadership.
- Develop creative, platform-tailored content concepts, pillars, and campaign ideas that are video-focused and aligned with each brand’s voice.
- Create and maintain comprehensive annual and quarterly strategy documents and creative decks for client accounts.
- Stay updated on social media platform developments (TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn) and adapt strategies to reflect evolving trends.
- Collaborate closely with the Director of Digital Ads and Editors to align creative content production with quality standards.
- Oversee the creative direction and effectiveness of paid social ads, focusing on click-through-rate as a performance metric.
- Manage account logistics, including scheduling, content calendars, approvals, and publishing workflows using tools such as PostFlow, ClickUp, and Slack.
- Coordinate with the internal ads team to ensure alignment of creative briefs, campaign objectives, and targeting strategies.
- Adhere to and contribute to internal processes and SOPs developed by leadership, identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements while maintaining consistency and scalability.
- Compile and analyze monthly performance data for accounts, presenting insights and recommendations in client reports with clear viewpoints on successes and refinements.
Success Metrics
- Achieve a 95% client renewal rate within your portfolio.
- Ensure all accounts meet minimum engagement rates over 5% and demonstrate growth benchmarks.
- Maintain paid ad creatives that meet or outperform internal click-through-rate standards.
- Deliver an onboarding experience that leaves new clients confident and enthusiastic.
- Consistently meet deadlines for content calendars, approvals, and deliverables across all accounts.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' professional experience managing social media accounts, preferably within an agency environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in content strategy with the ability to create compelling, platform-native storytelling that conveys brand identity.
- Strong understanding of the importance of video content in modern social media and the ability to effectively direct its production.
- Highly organized and dependable, with meticulous account management and timely delivery.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with clear, responsive communication across teams and clients.
- Professional demeanor exemplified through business-appropriate social media presence and behavior.
- Must reside in Austin, Texas and be willing to work on-site at the company office.
- Possession of a four-year college degree is required.
