Position Overview

Nevada Gold Mines is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role involves ensuring the proper functioning of mining facilities through regular maintenance and repair. The work environment includes outdoor mining settings with potential exposure to large machinery, uneven terrain, and extreme weather conditions. Safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment are mandatory throughout all duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs safely and efficiently on industrial, commercial, and residential-type facilities within the mining complex.
• Conduct facility repair and remodeling tasks including concrete work, tile installation, drywall, painting, and welding activities.
• Operate excavation machinery and associated tools responsibly.
• Repair roofing structures and maintain door and lock systems as needed.
• Collaborate effectively with HVAC and plumbing specialists to support replacements and repairs.
• Read and interpret facility blueprints accurately to guide repair and maintenance tasks.

Qualifications and Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior experience with excavation equipment is desirable.
• A minimum of 2 years in construction and maintenance roles is preferred.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Mining industry experience of 4 years is advantageous.
• Experience with overhead door repair is beneficial.
• Ability to lift and carry weights up to 90 pounds is required.
• Must demonstrate integrity and perform independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in job tasks.
• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
• Effective teamwork as well as independent working ability.
• Good interpersonal skills with a customer service-oriented approach.
• Proficient verbal, written, and radio communication skills.
• Capacity to handle multiple tasks, self-manage, and self-motivate.
• Consistent attendance and strong performance record.
• Willingness to work on weekends, overtime, and under adverse weather conditions.
