Position Overview
We are seeking a Site Civil Engineer to oversee and manage on-site civil construction activities within utility and infrastructure projects. The role requires a keen eye for detail in supervising construction phases, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily civil construction operations including excavation, backfilling, concrete pouring, waterproofing, finishing, drainage, roadworks, underground utilities, cable trenches, and structural building tasks.
- Ensure that construction progress aligns strictly with approved engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project timelines.
- Perform stringent inspections on materials, equipment, and workmanship to guarantee quality control and adherence to specified standards.
- Maintain comprehensive site records encompassing RFIs, material inspection logs, concrete pour documentation, and quality assurance reports.
- Conduct thorough site inspections proactively to prepare for client and consultant evaluations.
- Review technical documents such as shop drawings, bills of quantity, and construction plans for accuracy and feasibility.
- Develop method statements, risk assessments, and manage field change requests when necessary.
- Evaluate subcontractor work, monitor adherence to schedules, and certify completed work stages.
- Collaborate effectively with MEP, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) teams, and other engineering disciplines to facilitate efficient project delivery.
- Ensure all activities comply with international engineering codes and local regulatory requirements.
- Generate and submit periodic progress reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to track project milestones.
- Monitor and manage project resources including manpower, materials, and equipment utilization.
- Assist construction management through diligent progress monitoring and provision of technical updates.
- Liaise with stakeholders including consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers for seamless communication and coordination throughout the project duration.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
- Demonstrated substantial experience in substation, power, utility, or infrastructure-related projects.
- Preferred experience includes working in live substation environments and managing Permit-to-Work (PTW) conditions.
