Senior/Staff Algorithm Engineer - Image Processing

Job Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Algorithm Engineer specializing in image processing to develop and enhance algorithms associated with camera applications. The role encompasses algorithm creation, productization, collaboration, and documentation within a dynamic engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced image and video processing algorithms tailored for camera systems.
• Enhance and scale existing algorithmic solutions to improve functionality, quality, and overall performance.
• Support cross-functional teams by assisting with algorithm implementation, testing, and verification processes.
• Contribute to the hardware productization process related to imaging components.
• Produce detailed documentation for algorithms and coordinate with external research partners.

Required Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Fundamental knowledge and practical experience in designing image processing algorithms.
• Strong understanding of digital photography principles and methods for assessing image quality.
• Proficiency in programming languages, particularly C and C++.
• Excellent teamwork abilities, clear communication skills, and a keen willingness to learn continuously.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Experience with image and color processing methods, such as High Dynamic Range (HDR), Auto White Balance (AWB), color correction, noise reduction, IR removal/suppression, and CFA demosaicing.
• Expertise in developing and implementing image processing algorithms specifically for Image Signal Processors (ISPs) or CMOS image sensors.
