Senior Technical Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Technical Project Manager to oversee the data exchange replacement workstream within a larger programme of work. This is a 12-month contract position based in Wellington, New Zealand, where you will lead critical migration and integration efforts involving core business services.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct the end-to-end replacement workstream, managing from initial planning phases through to successful implementation.
• Coordinate the migration of designated services to the newly developed data exchange platform.
• Lead a compact, cross-disciplinary project team to achieve milestones and deliverables.
• Maintain comprehensive control over project scope, timelines, risk mitigation, issue resolution, dependencies, and governance frameworks.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders and external technology vendors to ensure alignment and smooth delivery.
• Enable operational readiness and support the smooth transition of updated services into ongoing operational maintenance.

Required Skills and Experience

• Proven experience managing complex technology or digital delivery initiatives.
• Expertise in system integration projects, platform replacements, or data migration efforts.
• Track record of handling projects critical to business operations with high reliability demands.
• Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional technical teams.
• Skilled in managing project governance structures, stakeholder relationships, risk assessment, and dependencies.
• Effective collaboration with diverse groups including business leaders, technical teams, and third-party vendors.
