Senior Software Quality Engineer

Job Summary

This is a temporary role where you will manage the comprehensive software testing lifecycle. Your primary duties involve creating and executing test plans to verify software quality and enhance usability, preparing test cases and scenarios, resolving bugs, and troubleshooting code-related problems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business analysts to collect business and functional needs and translate these into robust, reusable test plans.
• Develop test strategies covering database impacts, software scenarios, regression, negative cases, bug retesting, and usability assessments.
• Derive test requirements from specifications and design extensive test coverage and case mappings.
• Study functional and design documents thoroughly to ensure full comprehension of deliverables.
• Create and execute test cases across all testing levels, including Unit, Integration, System, and User Acceptance Testing for various modules.
• Report software issues and defects to the development team and follow up on defect tracking and resolution.
• Conduct non-functional testing such as performance, security, usability, and stress tests and analyze the outcomes to identify issues.
• Perform testing activities post software release or implementation phases.
• Work cross-functionally to maintain quality throughout the software development phases.
• Mentor and guide team members to improve their technical testing skills.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Preferred certifications include CTFL, ISTQB CTFL Agile Testing, CASQ, CAST, CSPE, and CQSPE.
• Minimum of 5 years of software or IT experience.
• Hands-on expertise in manual test scripting, test data management, execution, reissue processes, and requirements/use case mapping.
• Experience working as a Quality Control tester in agile development environments.
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies and life cycles.
• Proven experience testing mobile platforms across different OS and web browsers.
• Knowledge of proxy tools like Charles and Fiddler; exposure to Appium, load testing, and API testing is advantageous.
• Strong capability in bug identification, documentation, and tracking.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt swiftly to changing conditions.
• Deep understanding of test scenario design, test plans, traceability matrices, and test reporting.
• Skilled in drafting test case reviews and generating reports.
• Competent in functional and regression testing.
• Experience with test management and bug tracking tools, including Jira, TFS, and DevOps.
• Analytical problem solver with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Native Arabic language proficiency is required.
