Job Overview
The Senior Procurement Specialist plays a crucial role in sustaining operational excellence within Techo-Bloc's Resale segment, managing a broad portfolio of distinguished hardscape accessory brands. This position entails comprehensive oversight of purchasing, inventory replenishment, supplier relations, product lifecycle management, and readiness across the distribution framework to guarantee product availability at optimal location, timeline, and cost.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage inventory replenishment processes utilizing D365 MRP planning tools.
- Generate and update purchase orders for both domestic and international suppliers.
- Plan ahead for seasonal and extended lead-time product procurement.
- Evaluate and interpret inventory, sales, and demand data to determine appropriate SKU assortments and quantities per order, aligning with inventory objectives, historical data, and forecasts, while optimizing freight efficiency.
- Maintain precise purchase order details, including costs, confirmations, and expected deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with negotiated terms, trade agreements, and Special Sales Agreements (SAGRs).
- Recover vendor credits and resolve any vendor or invoice discrepancies.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison for designated suppliers, managing order confirmations, production timelines, and deliveries.
- Address supplier claims, quality concerns, and customer complaints effectively.
- Assist in conducting supplier performance evaluations, sourcing projects, and onboarding new vendors.
- Handle customs documentation and import requirements for international procurement.
- Collaborate with Planning to optimize inventory levels across multiple distribution centers.
- Monitor inventory health, focusing on aging, shelf life, seasonality, and supply risks.
- Devise inventory movement strategies including inter-facility transfers and rebalancing.
- Execute annual Booking Programs involving customer commitments, supplier allocations, and procurement planning.
- Respond promptly to product availability inquiries and provide accurate estimated arrival times.
- Develop and uphold standard operating procedures related to purchasing and operations.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and maintenance of resale products according to operational guidelines.
- Oversee yard inventory status, organization, and aging conditions.
- Coordinate the operational preparedness for launching new products and brands at all distribution centers.
- Partner with Distribution to confirm sufficient storage space, appropriate inventory placement, and receiving readiness.
- Support inventory audits, cycle counts, and initiatives aimed at maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Be available for up to 10% travel within North America as the role demands.
- Oversee product lifecycle activities including SKU creation, setup, unit conversions, purchasing parameters, minimum ordering, discontinuations, and clearances.
- Maintain purchasing contracts, vendor prices, and trade agreements within the D365 ERP system.
- Collaborate closely with Planning and ERP teams to ensure data accuracy and clear ownership of system parameters.
- Coordinate logistics activities such as direct shipments, vendor pickups, and inbound transportation.
- Manage domestic and international inbound freight and ensure accuracy of shipping and customs documentation.
- Contribute to freight cost optimization and reduction efforts.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Logistics, or related disciplines, or comparable professional experience.
- Five to eight years of professional involvement in procurement, purchasing, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
- Hands-on experience managing suppliers both domestically and internationally.
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as D365, SAP, Oracle, or equivalents.
- Background in inventory planning, replenishment, and distribution operations.
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or the building materials sector is advantageous.
